Charts. What are we looking at here? The charts that Sidereal is presenting are presented in a fashion that casts them as all representations of opinions. The opinion of Maximal Pro-Life, the opinion of Maximal Pro-Abortion, the Estimated Popular opinion, the Current Legal opinion, and Sidereal's opinion.
Maybe it's just me, but opinion seems to be a terrible way to make a decision when there are facts available to make a decision on. Like for instance:
1. It's a fact that, the science of biology defines a species as a group of organisms the adults of which can produce additional organisms that will do the same when they are adults. Based on that fact, regardless of what it looks like, if the offspring of an organism is another organism that could grow into an adult and reproduce, they are members of the same species.
2. It's a fact that, the science of biology defines sexual reproduction as the process by which genetic material from a male and a female of a species combines to form a new member of the same species. Based on that fact, the genetic makeup of the progeny of two humans will be distinct from the parents.
3. It's a fact that, the science of biology defines an organism as one cell or a group of cells connected together that all have the same genetic makeup and carry on processes like respiration and reproduction. Based on that fact, living cells which are connected together but have different genetic makeup are different organisms.
This means that an organism inside a human female's uterus, which is genetically distinct from her, and which could one day grow to adulthood and sexually reproduce, is not that woman and is a human being.
So, according to scientific fact established through the use of the scientific method, a premature baby in utero is a human being. Since a baby in the womb is a human, laws protecting humans should apply. If it is illegal to kill humans, then killing a baby before it is born should also be illegal because it is a human. In fact, since a baby is human as far back as conception, apply all the laws applicable to humans to them. It should be illegal for a baby in utero to drive a car. Likewise, rights protected as inalienable human rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, should not be denied. And further still, if a baby, a human not yet born, should break a law, they should face the same legal penalties as any other human. If a baby kidnaps or kills his mother, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Most likely a baby will have to be tried in juvenile court, and the baby is likely to be found not to be responsible for his own actions, but that is how the laws go.
It seems to me that calling a spade a spade, and a human a human, and applying the applicable laws rigorously is the right way to go. If a woman is inconvenienced, injured, or killed, by a baby in her womb, she may well have legal recourse. But the vigilante who kills babies for their crimes should themselves be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
